Steroid Injection Clinic

Steroid Injection Clinic

Steroid injections, also called corticosteroid injections, are anti-inflammatory medicines used to treat a range of conditions.

They can be used to treat problems such as joint painarthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Steroid injections are only given by healthcare professionals. All patients who are considering having a Steroid Injection  must discuss this with one of our GPs first, in order to determine whether this is a suitable course of action for your condition. If the GP is happy for you to go forward with the injection, it would be administered within our Steroid Injection Clinic at our branch Chapel Surgery, St Athan. The clinic runs once a week between 9-10.30 in Chapel Surgery, St Athan.

Appointments can be booked via our Reception team. A time slot of 10 minutes is allocated per injection. If a you need 2 joints injected this will require a 20 minute appointment. Please ensure you make the Reception staff aware of this at the time of booking as we cannot accommodate an extra injection on the day if only 10 minutes has been booked.

Also, please note the Steroid Injection Clinic is only for administering injections and that patients need to book a separate routine appointment at a different time if they wish to discuss another health matter.
