Our Nurse Practitioners:

Mrs Jenny Cole (Specialist Nurse Practitioner, RN. BSc Hons Community Health Studies, Dip H E Nursing. Post Grad Non-Medical Prescribing)

Ms Teresa James Specialist Nurse Practitioner RGN. Diploma Community Health Studies BSc Hons Professional Practice (Health Care Studies) MSc Module Independent Nurse Prescribing

Sister Cole runs an unbooked clinic alongside the Doctors Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 08:30am – 12:00pm (annual leave permitting) 

Sister James runs an unbooked clinic at St Athan on a Monday morning and at Llantwit Major in the afternoon as well as all on a Tuesday (annual leave permitting). 

A Nurse Practitioner is an advanced Practice Registered Nurse classified as a mid-level practitioner. A Nurse Practitioner is trained to assess patient needs, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnose illness and disease, prescribe medication and formulate treatment plans. 

If you need to be seen for any of the following ailments please book in with our Nurse Practitioner:

High blood pressure

Wound Infections

Urine Infections (Males and Females aged 18-65)

Chest Infection

Sore throat/Tonsillitis



Minor ailments


x No children under 5 years of age

x No complex/on-going issues

NP training covers basic disease prevention, coordination of care, and health promotion, but does not provide the depth of expertise needed to recognize more complex cases in which multiple symptoms suggest more serious conditions. 

Please note if the NP feels you need to be seen by a GP urgently you will be fast tracked to the on-call duty doctor.
