Please, if at all possible, come to the surgery.
House calls are undertaken by an appropriate health care professional, this may be either a GP (General Practitioner) or a Nurse Practitioner. The GP triages the housecall requests in the morning and these are then allocated across our clinical team, so please be aware that it may be our Nurse Practitioner who calls at your home.
If you must have a home visit please make your request by 10.30am. The receptionist will ask for an indication of the nature of the problem.
Home visits are very time consuming, meaning that the Health Care Professional cannot see as many patients in a day as they would like. Home visits are usually reserved for elderly, frail or terminally ill patients who are housebound. Difficulty with transport is not in itself a valid reason to request a home visit.
